After winning the Rookie of the Year honors in 1963, Billy Wade moved to Bud Moore�s Mercury Team in �64. He achieved success immediately. In his first 20 races with Moore, Wade finished out of the top 12 only twice. He also racked up 4 consecutive wins in a 20 day stretch in July. He also ended up 4th in the NASCAR Points Championship for 1964. Prior to the beginning of the 1965 Season, Wade was killed in a tire test at Daytona.
