Billy Myers campaigned this 1958 Mercury on his own, in only 2 races in the �58 NASCAR Grand National Division. A month after his 2nd race, he was driving a modified at Bowman Gray, in Winston Salem, NC. Billy Myers suffered a heart attack and died. Ironically Myers' brother, Bobby, Father to Danny �Chocolate� Myers, had died in a horrific crash the previous September during the Southern 500 at Darlington. In their memory, The Myers Brothers award was established. It is awarded annually to a person, or persons, who have made outstanding contributions to stock car racing.
